Full OAC Release

WESTERVILLE, OHIO—Defensive back Dominic Jones, running back Colton Coy, place-kicker David Brewer, and defensive lineman Chaz Horsley, headlined a list of nine Otterbein University football players to earn All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) honors this season, the OAC released Friday.

All four were selected to the first team.

Jones, a junior from Columbus (Brookhaven High School), also received the Lee Tressel Award, presented to the most outstanding defensive back in the league. Jones led the squad in tackles for a loss with 13, including four pass sacks, this season. He finished second among teammates with 66 tackles. The junior also made two interceptions and broke up six passes.

In addition to his defensive prowess, Jones led the OAC in kick returns, averaging 31.1 yards. He ranked second in NCAA Division III at the conclusion of regular-season play.

Coy, a senior from Frankfort (Adena), rushed for a school single-season record of 1,102 yards, and ranked third in the OAC and 30th in NCAA Division III. The running back led Otterbein in scoring with 78 points. He is a three-time first team All-OAC selection.

Brewer, a senior from Columbus (Dublin Scioto), converted 10 of 14 field-goal attempts this season to share the top spot in the OAC. He ranked 24th in NCAA Division III. Brewer, who also handled most of the punting duties, converted 33 of 35 extra-point attempts to finish with 63 points.

Horsley, a senior from West Portsmouth (Portsmouth West), finished with 48 tackles, including 31 unassisted. He made 5.5 tackles for a loss of 19 yards, including 1.5 pass sacks. Horsley was a second team All-OAC pick in 2009.

Players named to the second team were offensive lineman Matt Hochberg, linebacker Wil Longsdorf, and defensive back Anthony Korpieski.

Hochberg, a senior from Chardon, played left guard and graded out at 72 percent for the Cardinals this season. Hochberg also earned second team honors in 2009.

Longsdorf, a senior from London, led the Cardinals with 82 tackles from his outside linebacker position. He made 43 unassisted tackles and was credited with 9.5 tackles for a loss of 21 yards. Longsdorf ranked seventh in the OAC for most tackles.

Korpieski, a senior from Westerville (Olentangy), led the OAC with seven interceptions and shared 14th place in NCAA Division III. The cornerback made 45 tackles, broke up five passes, and blocked two field-goal attempts in 2010. Korpieski earned honorable mention All-OAC honors in 2009.

Players named to the honorable mention team were defensive lineman Joe Whitehead and wide receiver Steve Kuzyk.

Whitehead, a senior from Westerville (St. Francis DeSales), tallied 19 tackles, including two for a loss, and recovered two fumbles.

Kuzyk, a graduate student from Seville (Cloverleaf), led the Cardinals with 45 receptions for 534 yards and three touchdowns.

The Cardinals, 6-4 overall, finished the season in a three-way tie for fourth place in the OAC with a 5-4 league record. The senior class tied the school record for most career wins with 28.
