Volleyball Tops Capital, Moves to 20-4

WESTERVILLE, OHIO – The Otterbein University women’s volleyball team topped rival Capital University in three sets Saturday afternoon at the Rike Center, winning 25-14, 29-27, and 25-12 to reach the 20-win plateau for the third-straight season.

The victory makes Otterbein 20-4 this season and 5-1 in Ohio Athletic Conference play. The loss drops Capital to 17-10 overall and 1-4 against league opponents.

Sophomore Annie Juenger led Otterbein with 13 kills, while junior Ally Nagle tallied a .382 hitting percentage with nine kills and just two errors on 18 opportunities.

Junior Kristen Bennett registered her fifth-straight match with double-figure kills, tallying 10 on 27 attacks.

Freshman Tabatha Piper dished out 37 assists while senior libero Lindsey Russell came up with 26 digs.

Otterbein hit .240 as a team for the match compared to just .032 for the Crusaders.

The team returns to action Tuesday evening, hosting Marietta College at the Rike Center. Starting time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
