WESTERVILLE, OHIO—The Otterbein University men’s tennis team, coming off back-to-back wins over Wilmington and Mount Union, holds down second place in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC).
Otterbein, 4-1 in league play, is scheduled to host OAC leader Ohio Northern University, 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, and Heidelberg University, 3:30 p.m., Thursday. The Polar Bears, 9-2 overall, own a 5-0 record in conference play. The Berg, 7-7 overall, shares fourth place with Baldwin-Wallace College, each 3-2 in the conference.
In OAC action last week, the Cardinals won a pair on the road, sweeping Wilmington College, 9-0, and edging the University of Mount Union, 5-4.
Senior Phillip Caprasse and freshman Ryan Shutt each went 4-0 on the week. Caprasse won at first singles and first doubles against Wilmington, and third singles and first doubles at Mount Union. Shutt took wins at second singles and doubles at Wilmington, and fourth singles and third doubles against Mount Union.
Caprasse leads his team with a perfect 5-0 record in singles play against OAC competition. Shutt, senior Ryan Catanese, and junior Ryan Roberts are 4-1.
