Cardinals Too Much for Thiel in 18-5 Win

WESTERVILLE, OHIO – The Otterbein University men’s lacrosse team improves to 7-6 for the season with an 18-5 victory over Thiel College (2-10) Saturday at Memorial Stadium.

The Cardinals scored the first four goals of the game before Thiel eventually got on the scoreboard, and a Brad Pendy goal with one second left gave Otterbein a 6-1 advantage after the first quarter.

Otterbein took a 10-2 lead into the half before coasting to the 18-5 win.

The Cards scored on all four extra-man opportunities, and held a 63-33 edge in shots for the game.

Thiel was forced into committing 36 turnovers as Otterbein was successful on 22 of 28 clear attempts.

Sophomore Andrew Donatelli notched two goals and four assists on the afternoon, while Eric Garris, Ryan Klipa, and Alex Dowell each scored three times.

Sophomore Adam McGrath tallied two scores and one assist while Mikey O’Neal dished out an impressive five helpers to go along with four ground balls.

The team remains in Westerville as part of a four-game homestand, hosting Denison University Tuesday evening at 7 p.m.
