WESTERVILLE, OHIO—The Otterbein University men’s tennis team closes out Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play this week with two matches on the road.

The Cardinals, 9-10 overall, enter the week sharing third place in the OAC with Baldwin-Wallace College, 19-3 overall, each 5-2 in the conference. Ohio Northern University (12-2, 7-0) and John Carroll University (9-6, 5-1) hold down the top two spots.

Otterbein is scheduled to face Baldwin-Wallace, 3:30 p.m., Wednesday and Marietta College, 1 p.m., Saturday. Marietta, 3-10 overall, is 1-6 in conference play.

The team played to a split last week, winning 8-1 at Heidelberg and falling 8-1 at Ohio Northern.

Freshman Ryan Shutt posted a 3-1 record on the week, winning both of his matches at No. 4 singles, and taking third doubles at Heidelberg.

Both Shutt and No. 3 singles player Phillip Caprasse, a senior, are 6-1 in league play this season. Senior Ryan Catanese is 5-2 at fifth singles.

The OAC tournament is scheduled to begin with the quarterfinals May 3.
