WESTERVILLE, OHIO—The Otterbein University men’s tennis team opened Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play at 1-1 with a win over Muskingum University and a loss to John Carroll University.
The Cardinals, 5-9 overall, resume OAC play Saturday, hosting Capital University at 1 p.m., before hitting the road for conference matches at Wilmington College Wednesday and the University of Mount Union April 16.
Otterbein opened OAC play with an 8-1 win over Muskingum March 30, and then lost 7-2 to John Carroll Wednesday. Sandwiched in between the two was a 9-0 nonconference win over Thiel College last Sunday. All three matches were played at home.
Senior Phillip Caprasse, at No. 3 singles, and junior Ryan Roberts, No. 6 singles, won both of their matches against Muskingum and John Carroll. Roberts won all four of his matches on the week, going 3-0 in singles and 1-0 in doubles play.
The Cardinals sit in a three-way tie with John Carroll and Marietta College for fourth place in the OAC.
