WESTERVILLE, OHIO--Former Otterbein University standout wide receiver Ricardo Lenhart (2002-05) helped Team USA defeat Canda, 50-7, in the gold medal game of the fourth International Federation of American Football (IFAF) Senior World Championships Saturday in Austria.
Team USA is now the two-time defending champion of the event, which is played every four years and includes eight different nations competing.
Lenhart tallied three receptions for 63 yards in the victory, including a 38-yard touchdown grab as time expired in the first half to give the team a 37-7 halftime lead.
Former University of Mount Union running back Nate Kmic rushed eight times for 49 yards and two touchdowns in the win, and also contributed five receptions for 42 yards en route to earning IFAF Tournament MVP honors. Former Mount Union offensive lineman Luke Summers also earned a spot on the All-Tournament team.
Team USA had previously won Group A with wins over Australia, Germany, and Mexico before topping Canada for the gold.
