WESTERVILLE, Ohio- Otterbein University placed 33 student-athletes on the fall season's Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) list, the league office announced Tuesday morning.
The 33 student-athletes is good enough to rank Otterbein fourth among all institutions in the conference. Ohio Northern University finished atop the league with 40 student athletes on the list, followed by 37 from both the University of Mount Union and Baldwin Wallace University. Overall, 278 student-athletes from the 10 OAC schools were recognized.
The Otterbein women's volleyball team led the way with nine players receiving the honor, with the football team just behind at eight players. Women's soccer saw six recognized, women's cross country featured four, and both men's soccer and men's cross country placed three on the list.
Academic All-OAC for men's and women's cross country was included with the fall sports this year after initially being listed as part of the spring list last academic year.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 on a scale of 4.00, have reached varsity status, and be at least sophomore academic standing at his/her current institution.
