Results vs. Cedarville
WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Otterbein University men’s tennis team scored a pair of victories over Marietta College and Cedarville University Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.
The Cardinals (12-5, 4-2 OAC) defeated the Pioneers 7-2 in conference play on Tuesday and took down the Yellow Jackets 6-3 in a non-conference showdown on Wednesday.
Otterbein combined to go 5-1 in doubles play between the two matches, allowing them to set the tone for singles play.
Freshman Will Willson continued his impressive rookie campaign by picking up two wins at both No. 1 doubles and No.1 singles.
His partner, fellow freshman David Seckel, had similar success, winning all four of his matches at No. 1 doubles with Willson and at No. 3 singles.
Junior Tyler Gibbons and the pairing of sophomore Andrew Sutter and freshman Jacob DeVore were the other Cardinals with unblemished marks. Gibbons won both his matches at No. 6 singles handedly, while Sutter and DeVore earned a pair of wins at No. 3 doubles.
The Cardinals will be back on the courts this Saturday, April 20, for an important league match with Muskingum University at 11 a.m.
