Men's Lacrosse Wins Fifth Straight

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Cardinal men's lacrosse team coasted to its fifth-consecutive victory Saturday afternoon, turning back visiting Thiel College, 19-6, at Memorial Stadium.

Otterbein, now 10-4 overall, jumped ahead early to take a 5-1 lead after the opening period which included a pair of man-up goal.

The Cardinals continued to convert their chances, opening the second stanza on a 7-0 run to blow the game open, 12-2, entering halftime. Otterbein remained in control throughout the second half in cruising to the win.

Otterbein finished with a 61-24 shot advantage, picking up 47 ground balls and forcing the Tomcats into 26 turnovers.

Mikey O'Neal led all scorers by recording two goals and four assists while Andrew Donatelli scored four times. Donatelli and O'Neal have scored 51 and 50 points, respectively, this season and are both expected to pass O'Neal's single-season mark of 53, set last season.

Mike Dattolo tallied three goals while sophomore Derek Hohn came up with a game-high six ground balls.

Otterbein returns to action Tuesday evening, hosting Wilmington College for an evening affair at 7 p.m.
