Cards Run Win Streak to Eight with 9-0 Win

WESTERVILLE, Ohio—The Otterbein University men's tennis team won its eighth-straight match, shutting out Marietta College, 9-0, Tuesday in Westerville.

The Cardinals improved to 9-3 overall and remained unbeaten in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) at 2-0. The Pioneers dropped to 2-6 overall and 0-1 in the OAC.

The Cardinals, scheduled to travel to Baldwin Wallace University Saturday, is one of four teams unbeaten in OAC play, which includes Baldwin Wallace (12-1, 1-0), Ohio Northern University (8-2, 2-0), and John Carroll University (5-5, 2-0).

Will Willson teamed up with David Seckel to win his seventh-straight doubles match, taking first doubles, 8-1, in the Capital match. Ryan Shutt and Zach McDivitt won second doubles, 8-0, and Jacob Devore and Sam Lawless took third doubles, 8-3.

Willson continued his unbeaten streak in singles match play, winning first singles, 6-3, 6-0. Shutt followed with a 6-1, 6-2 win at second singles.

Rounding out singles play, Seckel won third singles, 6-1, 6-1; Kendall Coffman won fourth singles, 6-0, 6-1; McDivitt won fifth singles, 6-0, 6-1; and Ben Keen took sixth singles, 6-0, 6-0.

Otterbein's match at Baldwin Wallace Saturday is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
