WESTERVILLE, Ohio—The Otterbein University men's tennis team advanced to the Ohio Athletic Conference tournament semifinals with a 5-0 win over Marietta College Wednesday at home.

In the process, the Cardinals tied the school record for most wins in a season, 16, set last year.

Top-seeded Otterbein will face fifth-seeded Ohio Northern University, 4:30 p.m., Friday in the semifinals slated for the Lindner Tennis Center in Mason. The Polar Bears defeated fourth-seeded John Carroll University, 5-2, in advancing to the semifinal round.

Kendall scored two of Otterbein's five points, winning in third doubles and third singles without losing a game. Kendall teamed up with Jacob Devore to win doubles, 8-0, and scored a 6-0, 6-0 victory in singles.

Will Willson and David Seckel won first doubles, 8-2, and Ryan Shutt and Tyler Gibbons took second doubles, 8-0, to give the Cardinals a 3-0 lead heading into singles play.

Zach McDivitt took the other singles match, winning on court four, 6-1, 6-1. Willson and Seckel were leading on courts one and two, respectively, before the match was called after the Cardinals scored their fifth point. The match was moved inside the Clements Recreation Center due to weather, and matches at fifth and sixth singles were not played.
