Final ResultsBEREA, Ohio – The Otterbein University men's cross country team finished sixth at the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Championships Saturday afternoon, hosted at the Cleveland Metroparks by Baldwin Wallace.
Ohio Northern won the event as a team, placing six runners inside the top-12 to easily outlast second-place John Carroll by 23 points.
"It was a rough day for the men but the gave it all the had," head coach
Dara Ford said. "It wasn't quite the result that we wanted, but I know they will regroup and run a stellar race at the regional."
Freshman
Ian Kellogg led the way for Otterbein, finishing fifth in the 138-runner field with a time of 25:26.8. He earns first team All-OAC honors as a result of being in the top-9.
Senior Phillip Cochran was Otterbein's second-place finisher in 32nd overall, covering the 8k distance in a time of 26:46.6. Freshman
Trevor Dilley came in 40th after crossing the finish line at 27:02.4.
Cameron Posner and
Greg Smith rounded out the top-5 for the Cards, both finish inside the top 50.
Otterbein will next compete at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional on Saturday, Oct. 14 at Rose-Hulman.
