Match ResultsMASON, Ohio—The Otterbein University men's tennis team got nipped at the wire, losing to John Carroll University, 5-4, Saturday in the championship match of the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) tournament in Mason.

The Cardinals took the early lead, coming out of doubles play with a 2-1 advantage in the championship match hosted by Ohio Northern University at the Lindner Tennis Center.

Will Willson and David Seckel finished first, taking No. 1 doubles, 8-5. Following a John Carroll 8-3 win on court three, Zach McDivitt and Perry Williams pulled out a 9-7 victory at second doubles to give the Cards a 2-1 lead heading into singles play.

In singles, John Carroll won on courts two and one, in that order, to pull ahead, 3-2, in the early going. Kendall Coffman evened the score moments later with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles. McDivitt, the only Cardinal to go 2-0 on the day, put Otterbein up temporarily, 4-3, winning a close 7-5, 7-5 match on court five.
