Box Score 3 FORT MYERS, Fla. – The Otterbein baseball team swept a three-game series with North Central University (Minn.) to continue its spring-break trip, outscoring the Rams 65-5 over the trio of seven-inning contests.
Otterbein, now 4-0 on the year, will return to the diamond Wednesday morning with a 9 a.m. game against SUNY Old Westbury. The Panthers, 4-1 this spring, made the NCAA Tournament last season and knocked Baldwin Wallace University out of the regional.
Due to the early spring break, Otterbein, North Central and Old Westbury were the only three teams at the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic as of Tuesday morning. More schools will begin to arrive as the week progresses.
Otterbein controlled North Central from the get-go during Monday's doubleheader, taking a 10-0 lead after three inning and never looking back.

Tyler Kent knocked in four runs, three coming on a homer to left field.
North Central took an early 1-0 lead in the second affair, but the Cards quickly blew the game open with eight runs in the second inning and another five in the third. Senior
Jordon Mally grabbed his first victory on the hill and freshman shortstop
Ben Beachy hit 3 for 5 with three RBI and two runs scored.
Otterbein set a new school-record for most runs scored in a single game during Tuesday's 33-3 win, opening a 13-0 lead after three innings before plating 12 runs in the fourth. The Cardinals sent 17 hitters to the plate in the frame.
Junior
Stephan Hernon, playing in the designated hitter spot, finished the game a perfect 6 for 6 and tied the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) single-game record with 10 RBI. Kent,
Jake Simmerman and
J.C. Gibson all registered three hits as Otterbein had nine doubles, nine walks and was hit by a pitch on 10 different occasions, one shy of tying the NCAA Division III record.
North Central had just 10 active players in all three games. The latter was originally scheduled for nine innings but was then called early and shortened to seven due to time constraints.
