Berea ResultsCentre ResultsBEREA, Ky. – The Cardinal men's tennis team improved to 5-5 on the year with wins over Berea (Ky.), 9-0, and Centre, 5-4, at the Berea College Tri-Match on Saturday. Otterbein, which sits at 5-5 overall on the year, shutout host Berea, 9-0, before edging Centre, 5-4. The Cardinals have now won three of their last four matches dating back to last week's spring break trip.
The Cards defeated Berea in swift fashion in the early-afternoon slot, picking up wins in four singles matches and two doubles matches, while also forcing wins-by-default in the other three competitions.
Senior Will Wilson picked up wins as the No. 1 in both singles and doubles play, downing the Mountaineers' Joel Deutscher (6-0, 6-0) before teaming up with classmate
David Seckel for a win over Deutscher and Clayton Cooper (8-0). Seckel also won his singles match over Cooper (6-1, 6-0) in the two-spot.
Fellow senior
Zach McDivitt followed in the three-spot and defeated James Weaver (6-0, 6-2), while freshman
Perry Williams rounded out singles play for the Cards with a victory over Dylan Imbus (6-0, 6-0).

Ben Keen won the only other doubles match that was scored, taking down Weaver and Imbus (8-0).
Otterbein ended the day facing Centre, which defeated Hanover (Ind.) to advance earlier in the day, as the Cardinals battled the Colonel's to win two-of-three doubles matches before splitting six singles matches.
Willson again played well in the top-spot of singles and doubles, defeating the Colonels' Logan Henize (6-0, 6-2) and paired with Seckel for a win over Henize and Luke Brooks (8-4).
McDivitt also fared well in both singles and doubles play as the No. 3, proving victorious over Alex Wermeling (6-1, 6-4) and teamed up with freshman
Derek Krieger for a win over Ben Hadlock and Forrest Kamperman (8-6).
Freshman
Tyler Wharton tallied the other win in singles play for the Cards, defeating Kamperman in three sets (6-3, 4-6, 6-2). Williams, Keen and Seckel each dropped their singles matches, with Keen and Williams falling in doubles to Wermeling and Caleb Smith (8-5).
The Cardinals return home next Saturday to host Albion at 1 p.m. before opening Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play against Muskingum on Mar. 30.
