Men's Tennis Suffers Tough Loss to JCU

WESTERVILLE, Ohio - The Otterbein University men's tennis team suffered a tough 8-1 loss to John Carroll on Saturday afternoon at the Sanders Tennis Courts.

Otterbein (9-7 overall) falls to 3-2 in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play and will travel to cross-town rival next Thursday at 4 p.m. in Bexley, Ohio.
 
The lone win for the Cardinal on the day came from senior Zach McDivitt, who battled JCU's Alex Guthrie to a 6-3, 6-2 match victory as the No. 3. McDivitt paired with junior Ben Keen in No. 2 doubles, falling to Tyler Cole and Nick Siciliano (8-5). Keen also dropped his singles match as the No. 4 to Siciliano (6-1, 6-2).

Senior Will Willson was swept in the top singles spot by Jad Abdul-Aal (6-0, 6-0) and thencame up short in No. 1 doubles alongside classmate David Seckel to Aal and David Sinese (8-6). Seckel took a tough loss in No. 2 singles, falling by a score of 12-10 in set three after forcing a tiebreak set in set two.

Freshmen Perry Williams and Tyler Wharton both fell in their respective singles matches, with Wharton forcing a third set. Williams and senior Kevin Adell rounded out No. 3 doubles with a loss to Scott Adsit and Dillon O'Brien (8-5).
