Match Results

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio - The Cardinal men's tennis team dropped a 9-0 matchup at Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) leader John Carroll on Wednesday evening outside at the JCU tennis courts.

Otterbein (10-10 overall) moves to 4-3 in the league standings with one match remaining against Heidelberg on Senior Day scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m. The Cardinals will honor their two seniors, Ben Keen and Perry Williams, prior to the match. John Carroll, which is ranked No. 17 in the region, improves to 10-7 overall and 6-0 in OAC play.

The Cards got down 3-0 right out of the gate as a tough Blue Streak doubles group claimed first doubles 8-1 and second doubles 8-0, before freshmen Cody Rawlings and Riley Yost battled JCU's Tyler Cole and Nick Siciliano before falling 8-5.

Sophomore Tyler Wharton found himself atop the Cardinal lineup in singles play, facing JCU's Jad Abdul-Al, the reigning OAC Player of the Year, a match which went in favor of the Blue Streaks, 6-3, 6-0.

Fellow sophomore Derek Krieger played in the second spot for the Cards and suffered a 6-1, 6-3 defeat to David Sinese, while classmate Juan Vera dropped a 6-0, 6-2 decision in third singles to Siciliano. Yost, freshman Logan Sullivan and Rawlings were also taken down in their respective matches to round out the results for the Cardinals.
