WESTERVILLE, Ohio - The Otterbein men's tennis team picked up its third-straight win with a 7-2 triumph over Berea (Ky.) on Sunday afternoon outside at the Sanders Tennis Courts.

The Cardinals (9-8 overall) have now completed non-conference play for the regular season and have four matches remaining on the regular-season portion of its Ohio Athletic Conference schedule. Otterbein opens a three-match roadtrip beginning Wednesday at Marietta at 3:30 p.m.

Otterbein took a 2-0 advantage over Berea after sophomores Tyler Wharton and Derek Krieger swept Chris Malparti and Ethan Hughes 8-0 in second doubles, followed by sophomore Juan Vera and freshman Logan Sullivan's 8-1 defeat of Avery Matthews and Michael Malparti in the third spot.

Seniors Ben Keen and Perry Williams had a hard-fought battle on their hands as the Cards' No. 1, dropping a 8-6 decision to Zachary White and Austin Worley despite battling in multiple sets.

The Cardinals quickly increased their lead with five-straight wins in singles competition, with Keen, freshman Riley Yost, Wharton and Vera each recording shut-out victories, respectively, after easily cruising past their opponents.

Krieger also proved victorious as the No. 4, topping Worley by a line of 6-3, 6-4. Williams suffered a 6-4, 6-1 loss to Berea's White in the lead spot, battling in multiple sets throughout the match.
