MARIETTA, Ohio – The Otterbein men's tennis got back on the winning track Thursday afternoon with a 9-0 shutout of Marietta on the road in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) action.

The Cardinals (9-6 overall) now stand at 3-1 in conference play with a pair of OAC matchups on the road this weekend, beginning with a trip to John Carroll late Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. The match will be played inside the Western Reserve Racquet Club in Streetsboro, Ohio.

Otterbein then travels across town to play at rival Capital on Sunday in a make-up match from last weekend which was rained out. First serve in Bexley, Ohio, is set for 1 p.m.

A 3-0 advantage through doubles play propelled the Cardinals to their third shut-out win in the last four outings, as just two games were surrendered among the three flights.

Much of the same dominance in favor of Otterbein continued as singles play got underway, as freshman Jamie Price and sophomore Riley Yost each posted a clean 6-0, 6-0 sweep in fourth and sixth singles, respectively.

The other four points also came in swift fashion for the Cards as junior Derek Krieger, playing in his first match since an injury late in the fall season, won 6-3, 6-4 in the third spot. Krieger was also victorious in second doubles alongside classmate Tyler Wharton.
