WESTERVILLE, Ohio - The Otterbein men's tennis team dropped its first Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) match against John Carroll 6-3 Tuesday afternoon, as the Cardinals had four individual matches go into a third set.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Cardinals earned one point in doubles, as the duo of Jared Deel and Brandon Wall won 8-6 in first doubles. The duo now holds first singles double record of 11-4.
- Connor Radune came away with the first singles victory, as he won 6-7, 6-0, 1-0 from the second singles slot. Radune now holds an 11-4 mark at second singles.
- Riley Yost continued his winning streak, as the junior won 6-4, 3-6, 7-5 at sixth singles. The 3-6 was the second lost set this season by Yost.
- Tom Ohler and Derek Kreiger both won their first set, but could not finish off their opponent and lost in the tiebreaking set.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Otterbein's 11 match winning streak comes to an end, as the Cardinals had six 9-0 sweeps during that span.
- Yost remains a perfect 14-this season with 13 victories at sixth singles and one victory at second singles, as he dropped his second set of the season.
- The Cardinals improved this season and pushed the reigning OAC Champions to the limit after being defeated 9-0 a year ago.
