FINAL RESULTS
VIENNA, Ohio – Despite a lengthy four-hour drive back due to snow and nasty road conditions, the Otterbein men's tennis team continued battling the elements Wednesday to remain unbeaten on the school year.
The Cardinals, playing an early afternoon match against Grove City up north at Squaw Creek, turned in a 7-2 victory over the Wolverines before facing the lengthy adventure back to campus. Otterbein now stands 5-0 on the season as a result.
Otterbein captured two of the three doubles contests, as
Armando DiMichaelangelo paired up with
Tom Ohler to post an 8-2 decision in the second spot.
Bryson Alexander and
Jeffrey Adkins then emerged with an 8-6 triumph in the third position.
Jamie Price and
Connor Radune came up short, 8-3, at first doubles as junior
Brandon Wall rested for just a No. 1 singles match later on. In exhibition action,
Jared Deel and
Boban Mihajlov also claimed a nice victory to keep getting loose.
Wall then battled Grove City standout Karsten Lagerquist admirably before dropping a three-setter, winning the opener 6-1 but finishing on the low side of ensuing 6-4 and 7-5 sets.
Otterbein kicked into gear to win the other five individual showdowns. Radune prevailed 6-4, 7-6 following a competitive 7-5 tiebreak while Ohler followed with a strong 6-2, 6-1 victory in the third line.
Price,
Riley Yost and Mihajlov dominated to round out the lineup, combining to drop just three sets collectively and keep the Cardinals unscathed so far this year. The Cards have now beaten Grove City three-straight times.
Otterbein will be back in action on February 22 at PSU-Behrend.
