FINAL RESULTS
ERIE, Pa. – An unbeaten start to the young spring season remained intact Saturday afternoon for the Otterbein men's tennis team, which delivered a 9-0 shutout at Penn State Behrend and moved to 6-0 on the campaign.
The Cardinals needed to work for the clean sheet, winning a pair of matches in tiebreakers while posting some convincing results in others.
Brandon Wall and
Connor Radune saw the biggest dogfight at first doubles, emerging 8-7, while the other two matchups weren't quite as close.
Armando DiMichaelangelo and
Jamie Price won 8-1 in the second spot while
Jared Deel and
Bryson Alexander posted an 8-2 finish in the third position.
Wall then battled nicely for a 6-4, 6-4 victory over PSU-Behrend standout Ricky Dong at first singles. Radune nearly tallied a shutout by going 6-1, 6-0 and
Tom Ohler finished a decisive 6-2, 6-1 in the third spot.
Toward the bottom half,
Riley Yost fought admirably for a 6-2, 7-6 triumph while
Boban Mihajlov delivered identical 6-3 scores across his two-set win.
Jeffrey Adkins culminated the lineup with a come-from-behind victory after dropping the first set, 3-6. He responded with a 6-1 victory and then pulled away for a 10-3 margin in the breaker.
