FINAL RESULTS
SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – A bridge between the All-Ohio and OAC Indoor Championships took form at the Wittenberg Invitational across Saturday action, where multiple Cardinals took the competition surface to continue gearing up for the league meet.
Among the notable highlights inside the Steemer Fieldhouse included…
MEN:
- Cal Yackin had a pair of impressive outings, delivering a huge PR in the mile (4:12) to finish third in a deep field of 65. He also ran 2:29 in the 1K, nearly breaking the school record and crossing second of 17.
- GA Max Hoffman showed he's still got it from his undergraduate days, winning the 5K unattached with a 14:48 effort.
- Gage Beireis was 10th of 65 in that mile race.
- Logan Price came up with a nice personal-record in the weight throw, landing at 14.48 meters (47-6) in a long list of chuckers.
- Liam Walits had a smooth PR in the 800 meters, covering the track in 1:57 to land eighth of 44 competitors. He just missed cracking the program's top-10 list.
- Cincere Engram just barely missed a PR with a 1:09.56 in the 500-meter dash, good enough to earn seventh place.
- Jayvaun Lane took fourth of 33 leapers in the long jump, hitting the sand at 6.33 meters or 20-9.
- Jamez Lynch took runner-up in the group of 11 triple jumpers.
WOMEN:
- Coree Gifford won the 500 meters, going 1:20.38 to miss a PR by less than one second.
- Megan Carey tied a season-best in the 60 hurdles at 9.49
- Lydia Baumgartner ran 26.44 in the 200, missing a PR by .05 seconds but still taking third of 36 entrants.
- Emma Klosterman cleared 1.61 meters (5-3 ¾) in the high jump, settling a half-foot shy of her career best. She still took third of 17 individuals.
- Brooke Caldwell posted a season-best result of 1:04.38 in the 400 meters.
- Ravyn Goodson had a season-best toss of 10.53 meters (47-6) in the shot put, landing 10th of 34.
LOOKING AHEAD:
- Otterbein will head up north to Alliance for the Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Championships next weekend, hosted by Mount Union inside the MAAC.
