WESTERVILLE, Ohio – A pair of Otterbein University men's basketball standouts landed deserving spots on the All-Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) team for this season, the league office announced Friday morning.

Junior
Dallas Patrick (Gahanna/Wellington) repeated with second-team honors and is now a 3x selection, while rising sophomore
Cam Evans (Chillicothe/Zane Trace) corralled his first league-wide award with honorable mention status.
Â
Both combo guards helped guide Otterbein, picked to finish dead last in the 10-team conference, to a fourth-place finish in the regular season. The Cards then unfortunately fell to No. 5 seed Baldwin Wallace in quarterfinal action of the league's postseason event.
Â
Patrick ranked tenth in the league at 14.4 points per game this winter and now currently sits with 984 for his college career. The swingman had seven 20-point games, shooting over 43 percent from the field while grabbing more than five rebounds per outing. Included in those performances was 32 points at Case Western Reserve.
Evans blossomed nicely as the team's sixth man, coming off the bench to score 13.1 per game on 40-percent shooting from behind the arc. He evolved as a primary "closer" down the stretch, making key buckets in crunch time that included a pair of game-winning shots; a buzzer-beater against Adrian and layup in closing seconds to top Wilmington.
Â
The Cardinals finished 17-8 overall, marking the most single-season victories for the program in over 15 years. Six of those losses were to teams ranked in the national poll at some point, with Otterbein going 9-3 in games decided by two possessions or less.
Â
A total of 21 players across the landscape earned All-OAC status. Special award winners are below:
Â
Player of the Year – Jason Ellis (Marietta)
Coach of the Year – John VanderWal (Marietta)
