HARRISON DILLARD RESULTS
ST. FRANCIS RESULTS
The Otterbein Track and Field programs took one last opportunity to improve marks and qualify for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships to finish this week, heading to the Fighting Chance Invite at St. Francis (Illiois) and the Harrison Dillard Twilight just up north at Baldwin Wallace.
Multiple Cardinals turned in standout results at the two meets, breaking school records and solidifying their spots at nationals in the process. Here's more of what took place:
- Cal Yackin (1500 meters) ran a blazing 3:47.31 at St Francis, breaking his former school record by over a second after moving up five spots in the race over the final split. A returning All-American in the event, he now ranks T-7 nationally.
- Back at BW, Emma Klosterman (high jump) set a new outdoor school record by clearing 1.70 meters (5-7). She tied atop the event and now ranks T-5 in the entire nation.
- Also in Berea… Cwinn Febus ran a whopping 14.31 in the 110 hurdles, good enough for a "new era" school record and fifth nationally at the moment. The time, at least on our records section, sits only behind Mac Hulett's converted 14.14 from 1945 and 3x national champ Roger Retherford's converted 14.24 back in 1974.
- Mike Rennette ran a pair of quality races in the hurdles, tying his PR with a 14.40 in the 110's in moving up to ninth in the country. He took fourth last year at NCAA's.
- Rennette also covered the 400 hurdles in 53.73, which currently positions him 22nd nationally and close to the cut line for nationals. He competed in both last year as a junior.
- Gracie Dennison ran 14.22 (wind-aided) in the 110H prelims and then came back to win the straightaway event in 14.42 seconds. Her effort now slots 13th across all of D3 as she looks to get back on the national stage.
- Nick Agerter set a big PR in the pole vault, clearing 15-0 even (4.57m) to land fourth of 16 competitors.
- Bill Daily also took part in that 1500 alongside Yackin, eventually posting just over 3:52.
LOOKING AHEAD:
The NCAA's are scheduled for May 26-28 at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio. Full qualifying lists will be announced in the near future.
