FINAL RESULTS

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – For the second time in 72 hours, the Otterbein men's tennis squad made quick work of visiting Mount Union in a déjà vu rematch Tuesday afternoon, this time coming in the quarterfinals of the 'Skyline Chili' Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Tournament.

Due to rain, the showdown was moved indoors once again. The Cardinals had previously topped the Raiders 9-0 on Saturday afternoon to lock up the No. 3 seed in this week's postseason event. Otterbein emerged 5-0 this time around as the remaining courts went unfinished.

As a result, the Cardinals will head to Lindner Tennis Center in Mason this coming weekend for the semifinals against No. 2 seed John Carroll. First serve against the Blue Streaks is slated for 4:30 p.m.
Otterbein will be looking for redemption after dropping a 6-3 result in the regular-season matchup against JCU, where all courts were fairly competitive.

As for the rematch with Mount Union, the Cards took a quick 3-0 lead after doubles following victories by Jake McDivitt/Tom Ohler (8-1), Gabriel Atteh/Jamie Price (8-1) and Will Newberry/Dylan Shook (8-2).
McDivitt and Price then made quick work at the first and third lines, respectively. McDivitt prevailed 6-0, 6-2 and Price was about the same at 6-1, 6-0.

Ohler, Newberry and Boban Mihajlov never had to take the court after Otterbein clinched five points needed to advance.

Otterbein and John Carroll will be a postseason rematch of last year's title clash, where the Streaks emerged from a wild 5-4 thriller.

Top seed Ohio Northern will face either Capital or Baldwin Wallace in the other semifinal contest.
