FINAL RESULTS

ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Otterbein men's and women's track & field team visited Alliance, Ohio on Saturday to compete in their last meet before the OAC Indoor Championships.

The Cardinals used the Mount Union Tune-Up to prepare for the league meet. Despite the day-long event not being scored from a team perspective, multiple Cardinals finished on top across a spread of events.

The highlighted performances included…

MEN:
  • Cal Yackin collected another victory this season, this time in the 1K in a school-record time of 2:27! He easily bested the former mark posted six years ago by Trevor Dilley (2:30).

  • Landon Burns led the field events for the men with a third-place finish in the high jump with a clearance of 1.89 meters (6'2.5" feet).

  • The distance squad showed dominance in the form of the 3K notching the first, second, third, and fourth-place spots. Ian Clevinger claimed first with a time of 8:56.20, just beating teammate Jaden Watkins by .64 seconds (8:56.84). In similar fashion Chase Jackson ran 8:59.35 while Garrett Miller finished with a time of 9:00.41.

WOMEN:
  • Peyton Proffitt found herself with another standout performance and first-place finish, this time matching Harmony Kolling atop the Otterbein record books in the pole vault. She cleared 3.97 meters (13-0.25 feet) and now ranks second nationally in the event.

  • Emma Klosterman also found success in the field with a second-place finish in the high jump, clearing a season-best 1.61 meters (5'3.5" feet). The height keeps her within the Top-40 nationally as she looks to make a push in the coming week for nationals.

  • Alyssa Mattis earned a second-place finish in the mile with a time of 5:26, besting her previous personal record.

  • Rachel Bollo finished in the top ranks again for the 500-meter dash, this time taking second place with a time of 1:24.

  • For the first time in this indoor season the Cardinals competed in a 4x2 relay. Proffit, Lydia Baumgartner, Brooke Caldwell and Tashe Lee produced a first-place finish with a time of 1:50 to lead the sprints squad.
