FINAL RESULTS
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The outdoor track and field season officially began for a portion of the Otterbein program across the weekend, taking part in the annual 49er Classic down at UNC Charlotte.
Junior pole vaulter
Nick Agerter spearheaded the notable Cardinal results, clearing a personal best 15-1 (4.60 meters) in the pole vault to land eighth in the Division 1 field of 17 jumpers. The height ranks him fourth nationally in the early going.
Matthew Baemel threw 43.97 meters (144-3) in the javelin to kickstart his outdoor campaign while
Vinny Zeren ran 22.45 seconds in the 200-meter dash. Zeren's time landed him 29th in the deep field of 71 entrants.
Carson Jones competed in the 800 and 1500 meters, running 1:58 and 4:10 respectively, while
Cameron Christopher (32:22) laced up for the 10K.
Amanda Radke (2922 points) competed in the heptathlon and
Josey Johnson ran 2:24 after covering two laps in the 800 meters.
Both teams will continue settling into the outdoor season and get full roster back intact, with the Amy Adams Memorial at Muskingum up next on the slate.
