NEW CONCORD, Ohio – Both tennis squads finished up a hectic weekend with victories to continue pushing forward into the spring campaign, with each side not letting up after dominating rivalry wins against Capital.
The men's team got on the road Saturday morning and headed to play Wittenberg at the Five Seasons in Dayton, ultimately besting the Tigers in a 6-3 final.
The women woke up Sunday morning and traveled over to Muskingum for another league matchup, comfortably downing the Muskies for another 9-0 shutout.
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS - WITT
- Otterbein held a 2-1 lead after some competitive back-and-forth doubles play, with Brandon Wall and Jamie Price winning most comfortably (8-3) on the top line. Joshua Mammen and Jake McDivitt went the distance but emerged 8-7.

- Will Newberry and Dylan Shook exchanged points before coming up on the low end of an 8-5 decision at No. 3 doubles.

- The Cardinals earned wins at four singles courts to take the day. Wall (1) and McDivitt (3) won quickly in straight sets.

- Price found himself in another marathon contest this spring with a 7-6, 6-7 counterpunch before escaping 10-7 in the breaker. Will Newberry came from behind to win his fifth singles court in three sets while Boban Mihajlov fell ever-so-short on the sixth line following a nail-biting 10-8 tiebreaker.

WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS – MUSK
- Otterbein made it five wins in the last six matches against the Muskies at Zanesville HS, posting yet another shutout in the recent all-time series.

- The Cardinals dropped just seven games all day across the nine courts, beginning with doubles victories by respective counts of 8-0, 8-1 and 8-2 down the list.

- Erin Storrer, Rachelle Moses and Aubrey McMahon all delivered 6-0, 6-0 shutouts in singles play.

- Lillia Walter, Cassady Shough and Olivia Eckels almost did the same but relinquished one game each.
LOOKING AHEAD:
- Both sides will have the middle this coming week off before resuming OAC play against Mount Union next weekend.
