FINAL RESULTS
WEST LIBERTY, W Va. – Track and Field continued its outdoor season amongst the elements Saturday, competing in a shortened track meet down in The Mountain State due to high wins and other rough weather.
The Cardinals saw a handful of notable efforts at West Liberty's "Tim Weaver Invitational" before the day was canceled about halfway through the list of schedule events.
Peyton Proffitt cleared 4.00 (13-1 ½) meters yet again, winning another meet and remaining atop the country in the event by a half-foot at the moment. She finished more than a foot ahead of second place.
Otterbein swept the 1500 meters shortly before the conclusion of the meet, with
Bill Daily (4:05) beating his field by five seconds while
Alyssa Mattis (5:12) winning hers by nine seconds over a competitor from Frostburg State.
Nathan Craft also ran 4:15 in the same race to land fifth of more than 40 men's runners.
Vinny Zeren (long jump) and
Nick Agerter (pole vault) both chalked up third-place finishes in their field events.
Charlie Dolliver landed runner-up in the triple jump on the women's side.
Most other events in the meet were unfortunately shut down middle of the day as a result of Mother Nature continuing making her presence known this spring.
Otterbein will have a pair of meets on the schedule next weekend, with most all heading to the John Homon Open at Mount Union and the All-Ohio Multis (Muskingum) also on the schedule.
