FINAL RESULTS
DELAWARE, Ohio – It was an all-around effort for Otterbein in the men's track and field standings at the All-Ohio Championships, where the Cards used a variety of victories and podium finishes to land a third-place result.
The Cardinals (95 points) landed only behind winner Denison and runner-up Case Western Reserve atop the team leaderboard.
Otterbein was led by three championship efforts –
Khalil Jones in the long jump,
Vinny Zeren in the 200 meters and
Nathan Craft in the lengthy 10K.
Jones flew 23-2 for the sixth-best leap in program history, Zeren ran 21.91 to assume seventh on the Otterbein all-time list, and Craft scooted the marathon trip in 32:00 flat.
Podium efforts also came from runner-up
Jay Figgins (1:57) in the 800 meters, along with third-place showings from
Nick Agerter (pole vault) and
Matthew Baemel (javelin). Agerter cleared a new PR of 15-3 to now rank Top-30 nationally.
Zeren also took fourth in the long jump at 21-8, and fifth in the 100-meter dash with a spring of 10.95 seconds.
Devon Bellomy joined that fourth-place finish of his own in the high jump after posting 6-2, as did
Ian Clevinger (15:38) in the 5K.
The 4x1 relay of Zeren, Jahbari Alben-Jones,
Shamar Brittman and
Khalil Jones combined for fifth place in a time of just under 43 seconds. Zeren was responsible for 22 points on the day.
Otterbein is back in action next weekend, getting to stay at home for once this outdoor campaign by hosting the Twilight Invitational on campus.
