FINAL RESULTS
WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Otterbein men's tennis team handled a quick turnaround after a disappointing result with ease on Sunday afternoon, blanking Mount Union 9-0 after getting back to campus very late the night before.
The Cardinals, fresh off a four-hour slugfest up at the Mayfield Racquet Club with John Carroll, regrouped to secure a needed victory in forcing a three-way tie atop the OAC regular-season standings.
Otterbein, JCU and Ohio Northern all finish 5-1 within league play, but the Cardinals still claim the top seed in
next week's postseason tournament after tiebreaker scenarios.
The Cards worked hard to snag doubles wins by 8-6 and 8-4 scores, but the third tandem of
Boban Mihajlov and
Dylan Shook (finding their form together) went unscathed 8-0.
All singles courts were taken handily by Cardinals as no set ballooned to more than 6-3.
Otterbein will receive a quarterfinal by in the league's six-team bracket and will eventually play a semifinal contest (Friday) down in Mason at 1 p.m.
