Jake Morgan's top-three finish secures third for Men's Golf at Wittenberg Jeff Roope Invitational

SPRINGFIELD —  The Otterbein men's golf team competed in the two-day Wittenberg Jeff Roope Invitational, spanning from Sunday through Monday evening, and secured a third-place finish in the 10-team field.

The Basics: 
  • Venue: Springfield Country Club:  Par 70, Yardage: 5871
  • In the ten-team field, Wittenberg is ranked No. 14, while their B team also placed in the field.
  • Final Results
The Tournament: 
  • Otterbein recorded a score of 300 on the first day and maintained their performance on the second day, finishing with a two-day total of 600. 
  • Wittenberg claimed the team title with a total score of 578.
  • Junior Jake Morgan led the Cardinals, tying for third place in a field of 64 with rounds of 73 and 69, finishing with a 2-under-par 142. 
  • Junior Carter Woodward tied for 16th place, posting rounds of 73 and 78 for a two-day score of 151.
  • Senior Quinn Gallagher tied for 32nd place, recording rounds of 77 and 78 for a two-day total of 155.
  • Junior Colin Bibler tied for 35th place, shooting rounds of 77 and 79 for a combine 156 total.
  • Rounding out the top five was junior Ian Morgan, who tied for 39th place with a total score of 157, shooting rounds of 82 and 75.
  • Senior Blake Bennett competed as an individual, tying for 45th place with rounds of 79 and 80, finishing with a total score of 159.
