WESTERVILLE – Otterbein freshman defensive back Colton Weisbrod was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Football Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 21-27.

The recognition comes after he tallied nine total tackles, including five solo and four assists, and recorded one of the Otterbein defense's five interceptions in a 39-10 win over Capital on Saturday.

The win marked the Cardinals' first victory since Oct. 1, 2022, and the team's fewest points allowed since April 9, 2021, in a 47-10 win over Capital.

On the season, Weisbrod is tied for third on the team in total tackles with 40. He has 1.5 tackles for loss, one interception and two pass breakups.

The Cardinals return to action on Saturday hosting Rhine River Cup rival Heidelberg for Senior Day. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m.
