Track and Field Achieves Mid-Range Results at Amy Adams Memorial

NEW CONCORD, Ohio. – The Track and Field squads competed in the Amy Adams Invitational held at Muskingum. They faced off against fellow conference schools and contended with several Division II schools.
 
The men's team grabbed seventh place with a combined score of 61 points, while the women's team earned eighth place with 41.5 points. Walsh University, competing in Division II, emerged as the victor in both categories.

Women's Field:
 - At the forefront of the women's team was Peyton Proffitt, an All-American, who clinched victory in pole vault with a height of 4.00 meters (13' 1.5"). The height was a foot and a half better than the field, and now currently ranks best in the country so far this spring.

- Charlie Dolliver achieved a sixth-place finish in the triple jump, recording a best distance of 10.19m (33' 5.25")

- Madison Gray secured the 11th position in the long jump, achieving a mark of 4.56m (14' 11.5")

- Ravyn Goodson earned the 12th spot in discus with a distance of 35.78m (117' 5") and 15th place in hammer with a distance of 37.06m (121' 7")
 
Women's Track Results:
- Alyssa Mattis secured a sixth-place finish in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:56.

- Geneveive Legawiec achieved sixth place in the 100-meter hurdles finals, clocking a time of 17.61 seconds.

- Olivia Finke ranked ninth out of 32 runners in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.33 seconds, and she also placed sixth in the 200-meter run with a time of 27.61 seconds.

- Rachel Bollo claimed the sixth position in the 400-meter run, crossing the finish line in 1:05.

- Alyssa Mattis earned the seventh spot in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:26.

- Rachel Ziel secured the 10th position in the 5000-meter run, completing the race in 19:49.
 
In the 4x400 relay squad of Rachel Bollo, Finke, Tashe Lee and Legawiec were the runners-up with a time of 4:16.
 
 
Men's Field Results:
- Nick Agerter placed third in the pole vault, clearing a huge personal-best height of 4.67m (15' 3.75"). The new mark is now sixth-best nationally so far this outdoor season. He finished only behind Tyler Shipley (Mount Vernon Nazarene) and former Akron standout Matt Keim, competing unattached.

- Richmond Honkpo secured third place in the long jump, achieving a mark of 6.77m (22' 2.5").

- Devon Bellomy finished seventh in the high jump with a height of 1.80m (5' 10.75").

- Tyler Gross claimed the seventh position out of 49 discus throwers, marking a distance of 39.88m (130' 10").

- Collin Grundy came in fifth out of 26 competitors in the javelin, recording a mark of 48.16m (158' 0").

- Colton Ruff secured the 14th spot in shot put with a mark of 12.88m (42' 3").
 
Men's Track Results:
- Shamar Brittman earned third place in the 400-meter hurdles, clocking in at 58.16 seconds.

- Gavin Kelly secured fourth place in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:58.

- Cam Smart achieved fourth place in the 110-meter hurdles finals, completing the race in 16.32 seconds.

- Mitch Green, Jonny Powers, and Brady Pugh took the 5th, 10th, and 15th positions in the 1500-meter run.

- Garrett Miller finished 17th in the 5000-meter run, completing the race in 15:21.
 
The 4x400 relay team of Brittman, Gavin Kelly, Smart and Jahbari Alben Jones placed fourth in a time of 3:36, milliseconds off from third.

 
BACK IN ACTION:
The teams will travel to Tiffin to compete in the Tiffelberg Open hosted by Heidelberg on Saturday.
