Track and Field Takes On Tiffleberg Open

TIFFIN, Ohio - The track and field team took on the Tiffleberg Open held at Heidelberg on Saturday. The event featured athletes from both Division II and Division III and was conducted as an unscored competition.  
 
Men's Track
  • Christian Barker finished the 200-meter dash in 22.05 seconds, securing seventh place and earning the ninth spot on the school's record for the event. He went on to place 13th out of 58 runners in the 100-meter dash. His 200-meter dash time also positions him at fifth in the OAC rankings.
     
  • Cameron Christopher, Garrett Miller and Cody Moore went 1,2,3 in the 3000-meter steeplechase.
     
  • Jonny Powers finished third out of 42 in the 800-meter run in 1:56. This performance places him second in OAC rankings.
     
  • Corey Rafferty finished fifth with a time of 15:37, while Ian Clevinger secured seventh place in 15:47 in the 5000-meter run.
     
  • Izaac Swope placed fifth in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.42 seconds. With this time, he is ranked third in the conference. 
  • Jay Figgins placed eight in the 1500-meter run in 4:02
     
  • Shamar Brittman came in 11th in the 400-meter hurdles in 57.68 seconds. He secured the fourth position on the conference ranking board.
 
Men's Field
  • Richmond Honkpo claimed second place in the long jump with a distance of 6.85 meters (22' 5¾"), just a half-foot behind a long jumper from D2 Lake Erie. With this jump, he is now positioned as the third-best in the conference rankings.
     
  • Nick Agerter took third place in the pole vault, following behind a vaulter from both a D1 and D2 school, clearing a height of 4.40 meters (14' 5¼")
     
  • Malvin Long came in fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 12.57m (41' 3")
     
  • Collin Grundy finished seventh in javelin throw with a throw of 45.74m (150' 0")
     
  • Tyler Gross got 27th out of 54 athletes in the discus throw with a mark of 37.69m (123' 8")
 
Women's Track  
Women's Field
  • Alexis Weber claimed victory in the high jump event by clearing a height of 1.65 meters (5' 5"), maintaining her position at fourth on the school record board for the event. 
     
  • Ravyn Goodson got 18th in discus throw with a mark of 36.22 (118' 10") and 25th in the hammer throw with a mark of 37.22m (122' 1"). Her performance in the discus event elevates her to the sixth position in the conference rankings.
 
WHAT'S NEXT:
The team will spend the week preparing for the John Homon Open in Alliance, which is hosted by Mount Union and takes place on Saturday.
