WOOSTER, Ohio – As the track and field team journeyed north,
Alexis Weber soared to victory at the Wooster Invitational. The competition showcased conference schools on both fronts, with a touch of Division II schools adding to the excitement.
The men's team secured the fourth position, tallying 87.5 points, with the women's team who claimed fifth place with 49 points.
HERE'S THE HIGHLIGHTS:
Women's Field:
- At the forefront: Weber won in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.70m (5' 7"). This accomplishment not only tied her for first place in the nation but also matches the school record.
- Peyton Proffitt achieved the runner-up position in the pole vault, clearing a height of 3.67m (12' 0½"), trailing behind a Division II national qualifier vaulter.
- Ravyn Goodson placed eighth in the discus throw with a mark of 36.17m (118' 8")
Men's Field:
- Richmond Honkpo emerged victorious in the triple jump, covering a distance of 13.51m (44' 4"). In second place was a familiar face, Coach Mack Conlon. With this performance, Honkpo now holds the runner-up position in the conference
- Nick Agerter won the pole vault with a height of 4.56m (14' 11½")
- Colton Ruff placed 11th in the shot put with a mark of 12.49m (40' 11¾")
- Jordan Blankson and Tyler Gross finished closely behind each other in the discus throw event, achieving marks of 36.06m (118' 3") and 36.05m (118' 3")
Men's Track:
- Shamar Brittman secured third place in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.88 seconds, closely trailing two Division II hurdlers. This achievement has elevated him to the runner-up position in the conference based on his time
- Christian Barker completed the 200-meter dash in fourth place, clocking in at 21.77 seconds, crossing the finish line alongside Mount Union runners. This achievement positions him as sixth in the OAC
- Chase Jackson clinched fourth place in the 5000-meter run, recording a time of 15:15, finishing just under a second behind a Walsh runner. This performance has earned him the 10th rank in the conference
- Jonny Powers earned the fifth position in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:03
- Izaac Swope placed fifth in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.46 seconds
- Jay Figgins concluded the 800-meter run in sixth place with a time of 1:56, trailing Division II runners who claimed the top three spots. His performance in this event ranked him third in the OAC
Women's Track:
- Josey Johnson was the runner up in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 12:42
- Geneveive Legawiec placed fifth in the 400-meter hurdles with a 1:08 finish. This puts her at fifth in the conference
- Rachel Ziel placed sixth in the 5000-meter run in 20:11
- Charlie Dolliver placed ninth in the 100-meter hurdles in 16.70 seconds. This time ranks her seventh in the conference
- Olivia Finke secured the 21st position in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.39 seconds, while the top 10 spots were all claimed by Ashland athletes

The team is back in action on Saturday as they travel across town to Delaware to compete in the All-Ohio Championships at Ohio Wesleyan.
