Wallace collects first OAC Athlete of the Week honor

WESTERVILLE – Freshman Lincoln Wallace has earned Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week honors after a 2-0 week from the Cardinals.

Wallace netted two goals on the week – both coming as game-winners. His first goal came in the 12th minute in a 3-0 win at Marietta on Wednesday night. While the Cardinals tacked on two more goals in the second half, Wallace's strike proved to be the difference in Otterbein's first OAC road match of the season.

On Saturday, the freshman scored in the 25th minute, helping lift Otterbein to a 3-0 victory over Baldwin Wallace. Similar to Wednesday's contest, the team added a pair of goals to secure the victory – also serving as head coach Jason Griffiths's 100th career win.

Wallace has eight goals on the season, which leads the team and ranks him second in the OAC. He has recorded a point in 10 of Otterbein's 12 games, including seven straight matches dating back to Sep. 17.

Wallace and the squad will have another tough conference test on Wednesday when they head to Wilmington College (10-2-2). Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
