Max Fickas was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 17-23.
This marks the second straight week that Fickas has earned the accolade, and it comes after he went 2-0 in leading the Cardinals to a 7-0 win at Penn State Behrend on Saturday.
He won 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 singles and paired with sophomore
Nikita Kitaev for a 6-2 win at No. 1 doubles in Otterbein's shutout road victory.
An All-OAC First Team selection as a sophomore last season, Fickas is 7-7 overall this season, including 4-3 in singles and 3-4 in doubles. A transfer from NCAA Division II Belmont Abbey (N.C.) following his freshman season, he is 24-35 overall, including 13-16 in singles and 11-19 in doubles, in his Otterbein career.
The Cardinals return to action on Sunday for a doubleheader against Transylvania (Ky.) and host Wittenberg at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., respectively.
