Wheeler named OAC Offensive Athlete of the Week

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Freshman Mitch Wheeler has been named the OAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, as announced on Monday afternoon. 

Wheeler contributed in all three goals scored by the No. 16 ranked Cardinals last week, turning in a 1-1 record. In Tuesday's road loss at DePauw, Wheeler assisted on Otterbein's lone goal of the night. 

On Saturday, the freshman was spectacular, scoring both goals in Otterbein's 2-1 victory over John Carroll. On near-identical set pieces, the freshman headed home a free kick, both assisted by senior Nate Wertmuller. After scoring in the eighth minute, he netted the game-winner in the 60th minute to lift the Cardinals over the Blue Streaks. 

The Cardinals will be back in action on Wednesday, hosting Wittenberg at 7 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.
