Men's Lacrosse Bounces Back Into Win Column

ALBION, MICHIGAN - The Otterbein University men's lacrosse team rebounded from three-straight losses by tallying a 20-6 victory at Albion College (MI) Saturday afternoon.

The win moves the Cardinals to 6-5 this season, with the loss dropping Albion to 2-10.

Otterbein scored the first four goals of the contest, and led 5-1 after one quarter.

An unassisted goal by sophomore Alex Dowell started the scoring in the second quarter for Otterbein, and the Cards would go into halftime leadng 8-1.

The Cardinals scored seven goals to blow the game open at 15-1 in the third frame, all part of an 11-0 run spanning back to the second quarter.

Both sides would find the back of the net five times in the final stanza as Otterbein picked up the 20-6 victory.

Dowell and fellow sophomore Andrew Donatellis and Graham Shippy combined for 12 goals, while goalkeeper Adam Hatchard allowed just one goal through his three quarters in the cage.

Otterbeinw as successfull on all but four of its 29 clear attempts, and held the Britons to just a 15 of 31 efficiency rate on clear opportunities.

The team next travels to take on the College of Mount St. Joseph on Wednesday, April 20. Starting time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
