WESTERVILLE, OHIO—The Otterbein University women’s tennis team, coming off back-to-back wins over Wilmington and Mount Union, shares second place with Baldwin-Wallace College in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC).
Otterbein, 4-1 in league play, is scheduled to play two on the road this week, beginning with OAC leader Ohio Northern University, 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, and Heidelberg University, 3:30 p.m., Thursday. The Polar Bears, 16-5 overall, own a 6-0 record in conference play. The Berg, 2-11 overall, sits eight in the OAC at 1-3.
In OAC action last week, the Cardinals won a pair at home, sweeping both Wilmington College, 9-0, and the University of Mount Union, 9-0.
Freshman Julie Stroyne turned in a perfect week, winning all four of her matches at first singles and first doubles. She was selected OAC player of the week for her efforts.
In addition to Stroyne, sophomore Taylor Jordan, second singles, freshman Brook Trine, third singles, and senior Kylie Hammons, fourth singles, all turned in 4-0 records last week.
Stroyne and Hammons lead their team in conference action, each winning all ten of their matches this season.
