Kalamazoo, Mich. - The Otterbein women's tennis team traveled to Kalamazoo this weekend to compete in the 2026 ITA Division III Women's Central Regional Championship.

Breanna Ball and Niya Bell competed Friday in an early doubles match, falling by an 8-5 score.

Ball competed next in her singles match Friday afternoon. After dropping the first set, Ball bounced back strongly, winning the second 6-3 and forcing the deciding match tiebreak. She ultimately fell just short, 10-8, in a very competitive finish. 

Bell competed closely in the opening set of her singles match, falling 6-4, before Trine's Elsworth pulled away in the second set 6-3 to close out the match in straight sets, concluding the Cardinals play for the day. 

In Saturday's matches, Ball had a strong showing in her singles consolation match, defeating Alma's Kushner in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2. Ball maintained control throughout the match, closing out both sets to advance to the next consolation round. 

Bell's tournament came to an end in her first consolation round, falling to Lake Forest's Anya Mookencherry, 6-1, 6-3, in straight sets. 

Ball's tournament ended in her next match as she fell in the Round of 16, 6-0, 6-0. 

Otterbein wraps up its fall season and will prepare for the spring competition season commencing in February.
