Box Score WOOSTER, Ohio – The Otterbein women's tennis team opened the 2026 fall season at the Wooster Invitational. After inclement weather moved a majority of the tournament to Sunday, the Cardinals competed against Wooster, Oberlin and Ursuline.
The Cardinals found success throughout doubles play, earning four victories in the second round. Otterbein's duo of Niya Bell and Avi Gullion posted a dominant 6-0 win over Ursuline's Gia Victor and Gabby Montez, while Sasha Bondartsuk and Raina Smith also blanked their opponents by a 6-0 score. Also in round two,
Molly Jones and
Brooklyn Murlin added a 6-2 victory over Paris Hirsch and Caroline Ramming. With a singles match at the end of the round, first-year
Julia Carpenco earned a 6-2 triumph over Wooster's Saule Kupcinskaite.
In the final doubles round, Bondartsuk and Smith battled in a tiebreaker, edging Wooster's Lauren Richmond and Jade Adkins 7-6 (3).
In singles action, Nora Pixler recorded Otterbein's lone victory during the opening round, outlasting Oberlin's Grace Moloney in a dramatic three-set match, 7-5, 6-7 (2), 10-5.
Rain impacted the Saturday round, forcing most matches to be shortened to a single set. Murlin earned a 6-4 victory over Wooster's Kamila Kadirova, while Smith defeated Saule Kupcinskaite of Wooster by a 6-2 score. Carpenco also notched a convincing 6-0 victory against Cameron Carlson.
Otterbein heads to the Oberlin Invitational Sep. 19-20 for their second competition of the fall season.
