WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Otterbein University women’s tennis team shutout visiting Marietta College 9-0 Thursday afternoon at the Richard A. Sanders Tennis Center.

Otterbein University (12-4, 4-1 OAC) did not drop a set in any singles match after sweeping the Pioneers (2-10, 2-4 OAC) in doubles competition.

Senior Julie Stroyne, along with freshmen Sammi Kruger and Adrien Leatherwood each notched two wins for the Cardinals in the victory.

Otterbein outplayed the Pioneers to a combined score of 24-2 in doubles play, before they extended their domination to singles competition. The team only lost 14 games combined in singles play, winning each match in straight sets.

The Cardinals are back on the courts this Saturday, April 20, for a road contest at Muskingum University. Both the men’s and women’s tennis teams will compete in New Concord, with the men playing at 11 a.m. and the women following at approximately 1 p.m.
