NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Otterbein University women’s tennis team earned their second shutout in a row with a 7-0 win over Muskingum University Saturday afternoon.

The win improves the Cardinals to 5-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC), 13-4 overall. Meanwhile, the loss drops the Muskies to 0-8 overall, 0-7 in league play.

Junior Julie Stroyne and freshman Sammi Kruger decisively took No. 1 doubles 8-0, and sophomore Rebecca Freitag teamed up with freshman Megan Locke to escape with a 9-8 (11-9) win at No. 2 doubles.

Otterbein took all five singles matchups easily, dropping just two games en route to the victory.

(NOTE: No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles were not played in the match.)

The Cardinals will look to extend their four-match winning streak when they host Heidelberg University Tuesday, April 23, at 3:30 p.m.
