Men's Lacrosse Dealt 9-5 Loss at Wooster

WOOSTER, Ohio – Otterbein University men’s lacrosse suffered a 9-5 loss at the College of Wooster Wednesday evening, falling to 5-4 on the season.

The Cards stay on the road to finish out the week, traveling to St. Vincent College Saturday afternoon for a 2 p.m. start.

Otterbein took an early lead thanks to a man-up goal from senior Andrew Donatelli, but Wooster (5-3) recorded the next three scores to assume the lead.

The Cards drew closer after Donatelli’s second goal, but the Fighting Scots added two more before the half in taking a 5-2 lead into the locker rooms.

Otterbein junior Pat Teynor scored the first goal of the second half at the 5:23 mark in the third, but the hosts bounced back again with three goals to open an 8-3 advantage.

Senior Mike Dattolo netted a pair of goals in the fourth, but the Cards were unable to draw any closer than four the rest of the way.

Wooster held a 38-30 shot advantage while Otterbein won 10 of the 18 faceoffs. The Cards were successful on 15 of 18 clear attempts but went just 2 of 8 on extra-man opportunities.

Dattolo and Donatelli each had two goals for Otterbein while Mikey O’Neal tallied two assists, running his season total to 17. Goalie Adam Hatchard finished with 13 saves.
