WESTERVILLE, Ohio—The Otterbein University women's tennis team advanced to the Ohio Athletic Conference tournament semifinals with a 5-0 win over Capital University Tuesday at home.

Top-seeded Otterbein will face fourth-seeded John Carroll University, 1 p.m., Friday in the semifinals slated for the Lindner Tennis Center in Mason. The Blue Streaks defeated fifth-seeded Heidelberg University, 5-2, in advancing to the semifinal round.

Sammi Kruger scored two of Otterbein's five points, winning in first doubles and first singles without losing a game. Kruger teamed up with three-time OAC player of the year Julie Stroyne to win doubles, 8-0, and scored a 6-0, 6-0 victory in singles. Stroyne sat out singles play to nurse a sore knee.

Emma Krummel and Adrien Leatherwood took second doubles, 8-3, and Alana Cheplowitz and Megan Locke captured third doubles, 8-1, to give the Cardinals a 3-0 lead heading into singles play.

Leatherwood, also 2-0 on the day, took the other singles match, winning on court three, 6-1, 6-0. Otterbein was leading on the remaining four courts before the match was called after the Cardinals scored their fifth point.
