Depauw Invite ResultsDANVILLE, Ind. - The Otterbein men's golf team won its third tournament of the fall season on Sunday at the Depauw Invitational at Twin Bridges Golf Club.
The Cardinals shot 619 (319-300) on the par-72 course to finish 11 strokes ahead of host Depauw (318-312) and Hanover (312-318). Otterbein was in 5th place after round one on Saturday, surpassing four teams and making up seven strokes on Hanover.
Otterbein, led by
David Monaco, placed four golfers in the top 10 of the 60-player field. Monaco placed 2nd, shooting rounds of 78 and 74 for a 152, just one stroke behind field leader Tony Rogers (73-78) from Hanover.
Luke Kindelin and
Austin Wells finished in a tie for 4th place at three strokes behind Monaco, recording equal rounds (80-75).
Adam Crider followed with a 157 (81-76), grabbing a share of 7th place.
Kris Clarke earned a spot in the top 15 with a 158 (81-77), placing 12th overall.
Rounding out the Cardinals playing field was
Andrew Kotey with a 167 (85-82) and
Tyler Elgin with a 168 (82-86), both earning a spot in the top 50 competitors.
Monaco, Kindelin and Wells were named to the All-Tournament team for their stellar play.
The Cardinals are set to return to the course for their final fall tilt at the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Fall Invitational on Oct. 3 - 4 at Colonial Golf Club in Harrod, Ohio.
